It's amazing to me that songs that were popular when I was young are still around.  I expected them to hang around on oldies stations.  I just didn't expect that young people would know all the words to Beach Boy songs.  Any classic rock fans here?

Sometimes a song is back for it's third or fourth incarnation, too.  "Leaving on a jet plane" went through The Mamas and the Papas", John Denver (the songwriter), Air Supply, and I think there is a new version floating around.

I love classic rock and it is amazing that so many 'Old Rockers' are still going strong.  I really enjoy a lot of the Stones, David Bowie and Foreigner.

I guess I thought of this because James Brown just died.  He was more of a founder of rock than in the group I think of as being part of classic rock.  I started wondering how many young people know "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag".
