The Departed - Directed by Martin Scoscere

Among the recent movies I have seen, I like "The Departed" the most. I think Scoscere is the king of the gangster genre as far as Hollywood is concerned. His other blockbusters like "Goodfellas" and "Gangs of New York" had easily established that, and The Departed continued the legacy. But I think his  debut movie -  "Taxi Driver" , was his finest piece.

What are the views of the other WJNJ members on this?I'd be glad to know...

I did enjoy the movie a lot but I didn't think it was GREAT!  I am not sure what put me off about it but again maybe I was expecting too much?

Well maybe you're right. Great may not be the word here. Its just that when I become a fan of someone or something, I become too forgiving for that person or thing and ignore the minor fallacies. Frankly, even I expected something more from the movie...considering his earlier work.

The Departed was GREAT. I loved it, and I think it is definitely the best movie of the year. It's recently been nominated for several Golden Globes and I honestly think it's going to win big. The cast was beautiful. They all put in great performances.

I feel so left out... I want to see this movie bad... maybe this weekend I can talk someone into going with me.  Scorcese is great!

Nice to know some people do find it G.R.E.A.T  . I hope it wins a lot of em globes!

 More than the cast, I loved the plot, it was a great idea. Great Script! Though I do agree with Iceshark...it wasn't Scoscere's best work.
