New Year's is my least favorite holiday.  I hate the whole looking back on the year thing, and I always swear I'm not making any resolutions.  But I always do.  Even if I don't write them down, I think about it.  And now that the new year is approaching, I'll start to think about all the things I meant to do this year, and didn't.  Unfortunately, I didn't do any   of my informal resolutions from last year.  Depressing.  I was thinking that I'd resolve to be alive, but I'm afraid that with my luck, I won't complete that one either.

So, do you make resolutions?  And if you do, do you keep any of them?

I seriously consider making them every year but then I realize I won't stick to them and just be more depressed, so I don't.  If I was going to make a few they would be:

Lose 15 lbs.
Keep in touch more with friends and family.
Try not to raise my voice to my kids.
Be more pro-active about dating.

Every year is pretty much the same as far as resolutions go. I think about things I'd like to do but rarley ever actually do them. Now that I think of it, there really isn't much I need to change about myself. Really isn't anything I should be doing that I'm not already so I think I just won't think/make one and see how the year goes.

They don't have to be resolutions to fix things.  They can be fun things, too.  And they are a lot easier to keep.  One of the few times I kept mine was when I vowed to go away on a trip an average of once a month for the whole year.

Yes, I have this nasty habit of biting nails. This year i plan to get rid of this habit. Apart from that i want to introduce excercise into my daily lifestyle.

No i dont make resolutions. The reason is because as time goes by, your priorities changes. I stop making resolutions because my priorities changes too quickly. I need to stay a head and make changes when it is needed.

Still, as I sit here, not having made resolutions last year, I find myself thinking.  Gee, I think, I meant to go there last year.  And I wanted to finish this.  And read that.  So I guess, even if they aren't formal, I make them.
