Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon

Or one can play six degrees of oneself.  For instance, I can get from me to Kevin Bacon in fewer than six degrees.  I was a crowd extra in a movie directed by Ron Howard, who directed Kevin Bacon in Apollo 13.  One degree.

Can you get to Kevin Bacon in six degrees, not necessarily by being in a movie, but by knowing somebody who knows somebody who was in a movie with somebody?

In case you never heard of this game, someone claimed that Kevin Bacon had been in so many movies with so many actors that you could tie him to any actor or director ever in only six steps.  The name comes from the play "Six Degrees of Separation", which was inspired by a midwestern professor's experiment in getting something delivered through other people.
