Which do you find yourself watching more, older or newer movies?

IMO some of the better movies in existence came out 20+ years ago....

I don't even think of 20 year old movies as old.  When I was in high school I used to stay up late to watch old black and white films like "Stella Dallas" , "It Happened One Night", "Casablanca", and "Shane".   Some of them really were great films, but sometimes the acting (pre-method) seems so stilted and forced they can be hard to watch.

I think we only see the best of the old movies, so it makes the whole era seem better.  But there were awful clunkers then, too.

Synthia,
Very insightful post.  True, I am a huge old movie fan and watch those movies with a passion, but you are right... when we watch old movies now we are watching the best of an era.  Of course they will seem better overall because we are watching (sometimes) nothing but the top movies of those years.  There were some definite clunkers in there as well.  There are a lot of new movies that I enjoy watching, but I get so tired of the sequels, remakes, redos, and regurgitation that come out of Hollywood these days.

Mostly I love to watch new movies. But some old movies are also my favorite like Titanic, Wanted etc.

Well there is no such issue to be raised of the new or old movies ! Instead there can be differences between choices , like I love watching movies which is having very good script along with its storyline !

I like to watch new movies more than the older ones. The effects and technology used in the new movies is amazing.
